Hormone Yoga

Hormone Yoga is a special form of yoga designed to support hormonal balance in the body. It was popularized mainly by the Brazilian yoga teacher Dinah Rodrigues.

What is Hormone Yoga?

  • classic yoga exercises (asanas)
  • breathing techniques (pranayama)
  • energy work (e.g., concentration and visualization)

The goal is to activate certain glands in the body—especially:

  • ovaries
  • thyroid gland
  • pituitary gland

and thereby positively influence hormone production.

What is it used for?

Hormone Yoga is often practiced for:

  • menopausal symptoms
  • irregular menstrual cycles
  • desire to conceive
  • stress-related hormonal imbalances

Men can also benefit, for example, to support testosterone levels.

How does it work?

Through targeted movements and breathing exercises:

  • blood circulation to hormone-producing organs is improved
  • the nervous system is calmed
  • stress is reduced (which in turn affects hormones)

Typical Practice Structure

A session usually lasts about 30 minutes and follows a fixed sequence of exercises that are repeated regularly.
